On the occasion of Saradha Navratri festival in Udayarpalayam, Sri Periyanayake Ammal, daughter of the fisherman Iswari dressed up in a boat and strolled down the street. A large number of devotees participated in this and worshiped the Goddess.
Saradha Navratri festival is going on at Arulmiku Sri Periyanayaki Ammal Temple located on the banks of Thandavan Lake, Ariyalur District.
